Volunteering for Ribbon Walk

Many volunteers are needed to make the Ribbon Walk for Cancer a success. We welcome individual volunteers and civic, church and school groups to join us. We need volunteers to help with:

  • Recruiting teams and individual walkers
  • Stuffing goodie bags and preparing supplies prior to the walk
  • Donating supplies for the event
  • Helping with set up, registration, food and signage
  • Helping with honorariums and memorials
  • Directing walkers on the route
  • Staffing water stations
  • Clean up at the end

Volunteering with Friends of the Cancer Center

Friends of the Cancer Center is a community of dedicated volunteers who support cancer patients and their families through a profoundly emotional time to improve the quality of our patients’ lives.
Since many of the volunteers are cancer survivors, they share a deep understanding of the impact cancer can have.
More than 80 Friends of the Cancer Center volunteers nurture, support and guide cancer patients and their families through their cancer journey. Friends of the Cancer Center is supported 100 percent by your donations and gifts.
Friends of the Cancer Center Volunteers provide the following care to patients and family members at the Cancer Center:

  • Serve refreshments and provide reading material
  • Support, guide and nurture
  • Distribute wigs, turbans, scarves and other supplies
  • Help with information regarding available resources
